Q4 2021 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Williamson County?

There were 16 offenders living in Williamson County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Carbondale Reporter.

The data shows 12 men and four women were released in Williamson County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Paul E. Collins. He was convicted of a property crime in 2018 when he was 53 years old. He is now 57.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2021 in each Williamson County.
