City of Marion City Council met Oct. 24.

CALL TO ORDER

3. PUBLIC COMMENTS/AUDIENCE TO VISITORS (Subject to Ordinance No. 3128 as amended by Ordinance No. 3134)

4. CONSENT AGENDA

A. EMPLOYMENT

1) HUB RECREATION CENTER

Approve the recommendation of the General Manager to hire Khaner Barber as part-time Lifeguard $12.00/hour, pending results of pre-employment requirements.

Approve the recommendation of the General Manager to hire Garrett Goelz as part-time Lifeguard $12.00/hour, pending results of pre-employment requirements.

Approve the recommendation of the General Manager to create the position of Aquatics Leader.

Approve the recommendation of the General Manager to promote Sarah Knowles to the full-time, nonexempt position of Aquatics Leader at the hourly rate of $16.00/hour.

2) MARION SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER

Approve the recommendation of the Director to hire Beverly Baltzell to the sub-cook position.

B. MINUTES

1) Discuss/Approve minutes from the October 10, 2022 city council meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

5. FIRE DEPARTMENT

A. Discuss/Approve the recommendations of the Police & Fire Merit Board to hire Dakota Upchurch and Grady Powell as Probationary Firefighters to fill the vacancies made by the upcoming retirement of Lt. Jim Escue and the resignation of Firefighter Alex Robertson; terms per the collective bargaining agreement.

6. POLICE DEPARTMENT

A. Discuss/Approve the recommendation of Chief Fitts to hire Tammy Hutchinson to fill the open dispatch position at the probationary 2 rate per the collective bargaining agreement. Mrs. Hutchinson's start date is November 2, 2022.

7. BUILDING & CODE SERVICES

A. Open/Approve bids for the sale of surplus properties per the schedule prepared by the Building & Code Services Department.

8. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND MUNICIPAL PLANNING

A. Discuss/Approve Ordinance 3840 amending Barnett Rentals RDA adding additional developers.

9. PUBLIC AFFAIRS

A. Discuss/Approve the purchase of a pneumatic teller system for the new City Hall from Monday Security Corporation for $11,780.00.

10. COMMISSIONER REPORTS
