Senator Terri Bryant attended a parade during Columbia Days as the November general election is on the way.
“Beautiful day for a parade,” Sen. Bryant wrote on Facebook.
Bryant is running uncontested for the upcoming Nov. 8 election.
Columbia Days is a multi-day event held in the City of Columbia. It includes the parade, amusement rides, games, music, and other activities.
Bryant is anti-abortion and supports the effort for that. However, banning abortions won’t end them but encourages unsafe abortions.
“This is a sad time in our nation’s history," Senator Diane Pappas said in a release. “Overturning Roe v. Wade will only hurt women by forcing them to resort to unsafe procedures. Although I am proud that Illinois took important steps to protect these rights, it is devastating to know some women may now struggle by not having the same level of care in their state.”
Bryant hasn't shied away from public appearances this summer. She recently attended an announcement of funding to renovate and improvements to the Rend Lake Resort and Conference Center.
She’s also spoken about the need to ensure Illinois' energy resources can meet demand in the future.
“Illinois is both one of the top energy producing and energy consuming states in the nation,” Bryant said on her website. “We have to make sure that the energy production and grid capacity (can) keep up with our energy consumption. If we don’t, we face the possibility of even more utility rate increases and an even higher risk for rolling blackouts throughout much of the state.”
In June, she joined Representative David Friess at a visit to Baldwin Power Plant.
Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act as the state’s effort to go green with its energy.
“For over two years, stakeholders and legislators on both sides of (the) aisle have tirelessly worked on crafting legislation that would both preserve our state’s critically needed nuclear fleet and put Illinois on a path to a better and cleaner energy future,” Senator Sue Rezin said in a release. “[The] signing of Senate Bill 2408, we not only preserve our state’s entire nuclear fleet and their thousands of good-paying jobs but take an important step to (achieve) our 2050 carbon-free goals and (create) even more jobs throughout the state of Illinois.”
In the June 28, 2022 election, Bryant ran unopposed in her efforts to serve the residents of District 58.
