Illinois State Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) gave a helping hand to mothers-to-be by hosting a Mother's Day diaper drive through April 29.
Participants were invited to drop off diapers and baby items at Bryant's District Office in Murphysboro, a recent Twitter post said. The collected items will be delivered to Pregnancy Matters in Carbondale during the week of Mother's Day, which is May 8.
"Good day friends, please help if you can!" Bryant said in the tweet.
Needed items included diapers (newborn to size 4), bottles, wipes and baby body wash.
Pregnancy Matters is a center where individuals can get information about their options regarding unplanned pregnancy, receive an ultrasound or participate in a variety of workshops that are available throughout the year. The organization also has an office in Marion, Ill.
