Report: Trico School District spent $9,805 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Trico Community Unit School District 176 was up 6.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jackson County school district spent $9,191 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,805 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 963 to 892 students over the same period.

Trico's spending in 2019-20 was 32.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
