Report: Carbondale School District spent $14,597 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Carbondale Elementary School District 95 was up 16.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jackson County school district spent $12,540 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,597 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,553 to 1,534 students over the same period.

Carbondale's spending in 2019-20 was 0.7 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
