Murphysboro median home prices fell by 6.8% in the second half of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2020 in Murphysboro fell by $5,500 while total sales increased by 36.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2020, there were 83 homes sold, with a median sale price of $75,000 - a 6.8% decrease over the $80,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 61 homes sold in Murphysboro in the second half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $1,485, approximately 2% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2020.
