Q2 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Williamson County?

There were 33 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2020 that live in Williamson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Carbondale Reporter.

The data shows that 26 men and seven women were released in Williamson County. Of the parolees, three were veterans, and the median age was 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 73-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2009.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Leon Robertson. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2009 when he was 60 years old. He is now 73.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2020 in each Williamson County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
