Carbondale Non-Bargaining Unit Employees Personnel Board recently issued the following announcement.
For Kids’ Sake (FKS), a local nonprofit, recently received a grant from Carbondale Community Arts to host art workshops for students. Participating students created original stained glass and watercolor projects. Each piece will be auctioned in the upcoming 21st Annual For Kids’ Sake Art Auction to benefit kids in Bangladesh. Artwork will be on display at the Longbranch Café & Bakery and open for bidding at www.forkidssake.net from Feb. 16 – March 29, 2021.
The recent For Kids’ Sake art workshops were so well received that Jamie Barbre, local artist, and workshop coordinator, will be offering a virtual Valentine card-making workshop on Feb. 6, 2021. Participants of all ages can sign up and learn to make unforgettable watercolor Valentine Cards. The $25 registration fee includes all of the necessary art supplies to create five custom cards, access to live instructions, and 20% of proceeds will be donated to For Kids’ Sake.
