Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Williamson County?

There were 16 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Williamson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Carbondale Reporter.

The data shows that 12 men and four women were released in Williamson County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 40. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2003.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Craig Boatright. He was convicted of a property crime in 2003 when he was 36 years old. He is now 54.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Williamson County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
