Sallie Logan Public Library Board of Trustees met June 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Jeanne Goforth called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Jan Kerr (Zoom), Jeanne Goforth, Debbie Martin, Madeline Steimle, Bill Center (Zoom), Carl Alexander and Sara Faye Marten

MEMBERS ABSENT: Debbie Tindall and Don Gladden

VISITORS PRESENT: None

STAFF PRESENT: Loretta Broomfield, Library Director

MINUTES: Bill Center made a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion was seconded by Sara Faye Marten. Roll Call Vote: Jan Kerr-Aye, Debbie Martin-Aye, Sara Faye Marten-Aye, Carl Alexander-Aye, Madeline Steimle-Aye and Bill Center-Aye. The motion carried.

FINANCIAL REVIEW: Reviewed and discussed.

STATISTICAL REVIEW: Reviewed and discussed. The delivery of books from Heartland will resume towards the end of June.

OLD BUSINESS: Reopening Plan – Carl Alexander made a motion to approve the reopening plan with correction for date changes. The motion was seconded by Sara Faye Marten. Roll Call Vote: Jan Kerr-Aye, Debbie Martin-Aye, Sara Faye Marten-Aye, Carl Alexander-Aye, Madeline Steimle-Aye and Bill Center-Aye. The motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS: Debbie Martin resigned from the Library Board due to moving out of state.

Bylaws Revision – 1. Splitting the office of secretary/treasurer to two offices. Madeline Steimle made a motion to approve the splitting the office of secretary/treasurer into an office of secretary and an office of treasurer. The motion was seconded by Carl Alexander. Roll Call Vote: Jan Kerr-Aye, Debbie Martin-Aye, Sara Faye Marten-Aye, Carl Alexander-Aye, Madeline Steimle-Aye and Bill Center-Aye. The motion carried.

2. Changing the date of monthly meetings to the second Tuesday of the month. Madeline Steimle made a motion to approve moving the meeting date to the second Thursday of the month. The motion was seconded by Bill Center. Roll Call Vote: Jan Kerr-Aye, Debbie Martin-Aye, Sara Faye Marten-Abstain, Carl Alexander-Aye, Madeline Steimle-Aye and Bill Center-Aye. The motion carried.

Election of Officers was completed by secret ballot with Bill Center abstaining from the vote. – President – Jan Kerr, Vice President – Jeanne Goforth, Secretary – Madeline Steimle, Treasurer – Don Gladden

Personnel – Will meet June 17th at 4pm. Long Range Goals

LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Reviewed and discussed. The State Librarian awarded the library the Live & Learn Construction Grant for $34,702.00.

TRUSTEE COMMENTS: None

Carl Alexander made a motion to adjourn at 7:07 p.m. The motion was seconded by Sara Faye Marten. All approved and the motion carried.
