AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS: Clear Your Mind

Gyio

African American Museum of Southern Illinois recently issued the following announcement.

Your mental health ALWAYS matters, and even if you’ve never truly prioritized it, there’s no better time to start than now! One of my favorite ways to do so is by journaling!

You don’t need a fancy notebook (but it does make it more fun!), just pull out any paper you have and write down your thoughts! Don’t know where to start?!

This is common – so I’ve put together a list of prompts to get you started below! Take 5-10 minutes a day to write out your feelings and watch what it does for your mental health!

What do I need to hear today? How can I uplift myself?

What do I want to accomplish today? Tomorrow? This week? Why?

What is my vision for my life in the next 3 years?

What are my best strengths and how will they help me achieve my vision?

What does a perfect day look like to me?

What brings me the most happiness and how can I make more time for it?

How have I been holding myself back? How can I move past these?

What makes life feel complicated?

How can I simplify? What doubts and I feeling? How can I address them?

What character traits do I like most about myself? Why?

I hope these prompts help you to start journaling on a regular basis. It has helped my mental state a ton, and I know it can help many of you, too!
