Murphysboro home prices rise in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in Murphysboro rose by $7,190 while total sales decreased by 4.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 61 homes sold, with a median sale price of $80,500 - a 9.8% increase over the $73,310 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 64 homes sold in Murphysboro in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $1,549, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2019.
