Analysis: Carterville pays $4.43 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Carterville Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.6 percent of the $137,245 the Carterville Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.43 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Carterville contributed $112,000 to the fund, which saw a $42,264 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $25,245, or 18.4 percent, in 2018.
