Analysis: Marion pays $3.86 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lake Egypt FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.5 percent of the $168,521 the Lake Egypt FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.86 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Marion contributed $133,898 to the fund, which saw a $1,454 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $34,624, or 20.5 percent, in 2018.
