Analysis: Herrin pays $7.40 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Williamson County Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.1 percent of the $108,434 the Williamson County Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.40 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Herrin contributed $95,531 to the fund, which saw a $23,089 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $12,902, or 11.9 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
