1 Jackson County resident in forties tests positive for COVID-19 on May 29

One Jackson County resident in his or her forties tested positive for COVID-19 on May 29, according to numbers being reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

In total, there have been 43 positive cases reported in Jackson County among residents in their forties, accounting for 16 percent of all cases in the county. Through May 29, Jackson County has reported a total of 268 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, 10 of which have ended with the victim's death.

Illinois gathers all of their COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it's transmission.
