African American Museum of Southern Illinois recently issued the following announcement.
Simple and delicious.
I recently saw an article about how baking can relieve stress. And honestly, this explains everything. Has anyone else been baking up a storm during this time?!
I’ve gone through about 12 cookie recipes in the past 3 weeks – so I decided it’s time to switch things up with this quick bread recipe my grandmother used to always make! And if you have the kiddos home with you, this is a super easy recipe they can help with, too
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 1/3 c. milk
1/2 c. peanut butter (add a little more if you’re a peanut butter lover, like me!)
Here’s what you’ll do:
-Preheat oven to 325 degrees
-Mix together dry ingredients in a large bowl
-Add in the milk, then add the peanut butter
-Once you have the ingredients combined, scrape into a greased loaf pan
-Bake for about 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean
That’s it! Enjoy with jam, Nutella, more peanut butter - or any other toppings your heart desires!
