Jackson County Executive Committee met Feb. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order (5:00 PM)

Members Present: Calandro, Erbes, Larkin, Mueller and Peterson

Members Absent: Nehring and Snyder

Also present: Mary Beth Varner, Josh Barringer, Mitch Burdick, Liz Hunter, Jeff Whitbeck, Michael Carr, Gene Turk

Approval of Minutes

I. 20-4745 January 9, 2020 minutes

A motion was made by Peterson, seconded by Calandro, to approve January 9th, 2020 Minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

Communications

Larkin informed the committee of a proposed intergovernmental agreement with Williamson County regarding an access road from Interstate 57 to Walker's Bluff. This will help expand Jackson County's east/west corridor. If the agreement is completed in time it will move to the full board. Mueller commented that this was discussed at the CLEO meeting. Hunter stated that Blairsville Water Department has concerns about re-routing their water.

Internal Office Matters

II. 20-4746 Computing Services Job Description Update

A motion was made by Mueller, seconded by Calandro, to approve adding the County Administrator as the supervisor to the Computing Services job description. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

A motion was made by Peterson, seconded by Mueller, to approve the appointment of Agan Alkan to the Southern Most Illinois Tourism Bureau. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

IV. 20-4748 Executive Session under 2 (c) 1 of the Illinois Open Meetings Act to discuss personnel

A motion was made by Peterson, seconded by Mueller, to approve entering Executive Session under 2 (c) 1 of the Illinois Open Meetings Act to discuss personnel. The motion carried by the following vote:

Yes: 5 - Calandro, Erbes, Larkin, Mueller and Peterson

Absent: 2 - Nehring and Snyder

Adjourn

Mueller moved and Calandro 2nd to adjourn, motion carried
