Murphysboro home prices rise in the third quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2019 in Murphysboro rose by $7,125 while total sales decreased by 20%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2019, there were 32 homes sold, with a median sale price of $80,875 - a 9.7% increase over the $73,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 40 homes sold in Murphysboro in the third quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $1,549, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2019.
