Marion Veterans Affairs Medical Center recently issued the following announcement.
At VA, ending homelessness among Veterans is a top priority. Since 2010, the VA National Center on Homelessness among Veterans has worked to permanently house or prevent over 700,000 Veterans and their families from becoming homeless. But there’s still plenty more to be done.
You can help make sure every Veteran has a safe, stable home by applying for a VA National Center on Homelessness among Veterans fellowship.
In collaboration with the VA Office of Academic Affiliations, the Center has created a postdoctoral fellowship for those interested in addressing homelessness among Veterans. Applications are invited on a rolling basis for national fellows to serve at five local sites: Los Angeles and Palo Alto, Calif.; West Haven, Conn.; Bronx, NY; and Dallas, Texas.

Three states and more than 70 local areas have effectively ended Veteran homelessness, VA data show.
As a fellow, you further this work alongside a Center and local mentor. You contribute to cutting-edge research, policy and education developments addressing homelessness among Veterans. You interact and collaborate on projects and attend the annual American Public Health Association conference.
“As each new community effectively ends Veteran homelessness, it is further proving that the strategies we are using to help the most vulnerable Veterans become housed are working,” VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said at a recent event celebrating Lexington’s success in housing every Veteran.
You can be part of this ongoing mission as a fellow. These positions are open to clinicians or non-clinicians with a doctoral degree or who have completed all requirements toward a doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
