Williamson County Board of Commissioners met June 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday June 5, 2019 at 10:08 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Ron Ellis, Chairman

Brent Gentry, Commissioner

Jim Marlo, Commissioner

Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder

Frontier internet contract was discussed. Commissioners all had different opinions on what they would like to do with the current contract. Commissioner Marlo would like a notice sent to them now giving them a 60 day notice to cancel internet when contract expires. Commissioner Ellis would rather buy out the contract, Commissioner Gentry doesn’t want to pay the internet bill at all. Commissioners would also like to look at other providers for phone.

Kim Meyer, Auditor, was present to go over the $2,000,000 transfer from Pension fund into the IMRF fund to cover the negative balance. Also present, Ashley Gott,

Treasurer and Rachel Sieveking, Assistant Treasurer.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Jim Marlo to recess and reconvene at 1:30 p.m. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron

Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Reconvene meeting at 1:37 p.m.

Interviews were had with Jerry Ross and Jesse Frawley for IT position. After doing background checks and checking references board will make a decision on applicants.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry adjourning meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
