City of Herrin Finance Committee met June 10.

Alderman York called the meeting to order. Those in attendance on behalf of the City were Mayor Steve Frattini, Alderman Paul York, Alderman David Shoemake, Alderman Sheila Ahlgren, Alderman Marilyn Ruppel, Alderman Scott Kinley, Alderman Steve Miller, Alderman Bill Sizemore, Public Works Director Toms Somers, Fire Chief Shawn Priddy, Police Chief Laird, Deputy Police Chief Blake and City Clerk Shelly Huggins. Attorney John Brewster arrived at 5:35 p.m.
ST Network Presentation - Jason McKee, Recovery Specialist with ST Network presented the council with a proposal to hire them to find Utility bill credits, refunds and reductions. They are able to recover up to 6 years in telecom and up to 4 years in electricity/gas. They will do a forensic audit on our bills and they go after them on our behalf. They look for billing errors. They profit a percentage based on recovered amounts. They would need a signed agreement and our utility bills. They do a 50/50 cut. If there is no recovery, there is no charge. Recoveries found will be written to us, then we write out 50% to recovery company.
This company has not done any of these in Illinois. Attorney Brewster will review and make recommendation next meeting.
