The data shows that 21 men and one woman were released in the Murphysboro zip code. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2017, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2015.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Valentino Guerrero. He was convicted of homicide in 2013, when he was 24 years old. He is now 30.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
