There was one offender released on parole during 2018 that lives in De Soto zip code 62924, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Carbondale Reporter.

The data shows that the released offender was Garrett W. Peterman. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016, when he was 23. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
