Desoto Consolidated School District 86 Board Reorganization met April 29.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

The Reorganization Board of Education meeting was called to order by President Paul Copeland at 7:03 p.m. with the following members present:

Copeland, Piper, Galloway, Shackleton, Martin

Member(s) absent: Bowlby, Smith

Motion made by Rick Galloway, seconded by Fern Martin, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Motion made by Jessica Piper, seconded by Rick Galloway, to adopt and ratify canvass of April 2, 2019, consolidated election. Motion carried.

The oath was administered to all board members.

Motion made by Matt Shackleton, seconded by Rick Galloway, to appoint Paul Copeland President Pro Tem. Motion carried.

Motion made by Rick Galloway, seconded by Matt Shackleton, to adjourn sine die at 7:10 p.m. Motion carried.

Roll call: Copeland, Martin, Galloway, Shackleton

Member(s) absent: Smith

Motion made by Matt Shackleton, seconded by Rick Galloway, to appoint Paul Copeland as board president. Motion carried.

Motion made by Rick Galloway, seconded by Fern Martin, to appoint Matt Shackleton as vice president of the board. Motion carried.

Motion made by Rick Galloway, seconded by Matt Shackleton, to appoint Tommie Smith as board secretary. Motion carried.

Motion made by Rick Galloway, seconded by Matt Shackleton, to set the Board of Education Meeting dates and times as the 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  Motion carried.

Motion made by Matt Shackleton, seconded by Rick Galloway, to adopt existing Board of Education policies. Motion carried.

Motion made by Rick Galloway, seconded by Matt Shackleton, to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 p.m. Motion carried.
