Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Williamson County?

There were 34 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Williamson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Carbondale Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Williamson County were men. The median age of the parolees was 39. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2016, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James Batterson. He was convicted of a property crime in 2009 when he was 41 years old. He is now 51.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Williamson County municipality.
