Williamson County Board of Commissioners met April 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met at 10:08 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, with the following members present:

Ron Ellis, Chairman

Jim Marlo, Commissioner 

Brent Gentry, Commissioner

Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder

Discussion had with Kelly Norris, EMA, on the grants that are available for that office. She is needing to itemize the cost of items needed. They discussed running some items needed from the IT department through the grant. CDS will give her the estimates.

Darren Ferrell, Jail Administrator, Bennie Vick, Sheriff, were present to discuss Accurate Controls Inc. contract. The total bid came to $465,070.08. Commissioner Ellis brought up the possibility of paying over four fiscal years. $186,000 this year and $93,000 for the next three years. Commissioner Ellis and Darren Ferrell will be in contact with Accurate Controls Inc. to see if the payment plan would be possible. Commissioner Marlo and Gentry both would like something in writing from Accurate Controls Inc. stating that they are willing to honor the payment plan. Another board meeting will be set up to discuss before voting on the contract.

Mike Cerutti and Doug Williams from Public Building Commission along with their attorney Tom Malkovich were present to discuss jail maintenance and repairs. There are five doors needing repaired at the jail that will cost a total of $49,400. PBC would like to submit these invoices through the jail maintenance and repairs fund. Commissioner Marlo asked for a set of financial statements from PBC since they are asking the board to pay for repairs. Mr. Williams will be sending the statements later in the day. No action taken.

Ryan Gerber and Gene Rodely from CDS were present to give an update on the work that has been completed. Mr. Gerber stated that 90% of the work has been completed for the active directory. Webroot, the virus protection that has been installed has been working well. He also stated that the Clearwave cut over has taken place and that Frontier is no longer needed for internet service and can be cancelled. He also stated that there has been a total of 290 work tickets made from various offices since January 2019. June 1st Gene should be able to cut down to two days a week. Possibly looking at Mondays and Thursdays.

Jeff Robinson, Supervisor of Assessments was present to discuss the members for the farmland committee that need to be appointed soon. He also stated that the survey for the land that Commissioners would like to sell is being surveyed by Crawford. Crawford has all the records from the land swap.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving the purchase of the sonicwall and battery back up from CDS. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
