A motion was made by Erbes, seconded by Snyder, to approve the February 7, 2019 minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

IV. 19-4032 Natural Resources Economic Development Board
The committee discussed the creation of a new board to which the County Board would make appointments. The committee discussed that they would like it to be part lobby agency, part liaison with other organizations and part tourism. The committee decided on the following:
Name: Natural Resources Economic Development Board
Members: 5 members, Residents of Jackson County, experience in any of the following: conservation, tourism, economic development, marketing, or related fields
Term: 2 years with the initial appointments being 3-3 year terms and 2-2 year terms
Meeting: Regular monthly meetings as needed. They will have access to County Board space and staff until they are able to provide it for themselves
Duties:
1. Act as liaison to the State and Federal agencies that manage public land in Jackson County.
2. Keeps a record of the total acres of land and water accessible to the public in Jackson County.
3. Coordinates with established economic development organizations and municipalities to develop and eco-tourism marketing plan.
4. Identify alternative funding opportunities available to the county for related expenses.
5. Work with local organizations to connect manpower to improvement and maintenance projects in Jackson County.
6. Report to the County Board on a quarterly basis, through the Real Property Committee.
A motion was made by Hunter, seconded by Erbes, to approve requesting the State's Attorney's
Office to draft a Resolution for the Creation of the Natural Resources Economic Development Board to be voted on at the full board meeting. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
