Murphysboro home prices rise in October 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in October 2017 in Murphysboro rose by $15,000 while total sales increased by 30.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In October 2017, there were 17 homes sold, with a median sale price of $78,000 - a 23.8% increase over the $63,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in Murphysboro in October 2016.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for 2017 was $1,531. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,531, as well. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2%.
