Murphysboro home prices fall in September 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in September 2017 in Murphysboro fell by $46,900 while total sales decreased by 53.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In September 2017, there were seven homes sold, with a median sale price of $38,100 - a 55.2% decrease over the $85,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 15 homes sold in Murphysboro in September 2016.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for 2017 was $1,531. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,531, as well. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 4%.
