Murphysboro home prices rise in August 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2017 in Murphysboro rose by $33,000 while total sales decreased by 25%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2017, there were 12 homes sold, with a median sale price of $76,500 - a 75.9% increase over the $43,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 16 homes sold in Murphysboro in August 2016.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for 2017 was $1,531. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,531, as well. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2%.
