Murphysboro home prices fall in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Murphysboro fell by $8,281 while total sales decreased by 13.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 62 homes sold, with a median sale price of $57,782 - a 12.5% decrease over the $66,063 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 72 homes sold in Murphysboro in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Murphysboro for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $1,531, approximately 2.6% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
