Administrators in Trico Community Unit School District 176 earn an average of $85,397 per year, ranking 688th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 11.5% higher than in 2014 and 0.5% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 20.4% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Jackson County school district enrolled 964 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 241 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
