Report: Carbondale spent $13,788 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Carbondale Elementary School District 95 is up 11.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Jackson County school district spent $12,355 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,788 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1497 to 1536.

Carbondale's spending in 2017-18 was 3.4 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
