Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
On Thursday October 25 at 7:00 P.M. The Science Center of Southern Illinois will present a Science Café entitled “1918 Influenza: The Greatest Pandemic of All Time?” John Martinko, Department of Microbiology, SIU, will discuss what is known about the deadly 1918 influenza virus and concerns about influenza today. A member of the Jackson County Health Department will be present to answer questions about this fall’s influenza immunizations.
The Science Center of Southern Illinois is located in University Mall, Carbondale. Admission to Science Cafés is free and everyone is welcome. Come early and enjoy a complimentary cup of Gloria Jean’s coffee.
