Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Drivers should expect delays on September 5 and 6 due to railroad crossing work being completed by Canadian National Railroad/Illinois Central Railroad.
Crews will be removing and replacing the rail and roadway panels near the Newell House and Town Square Pavilion. Westbound IL 13 will be closed for two days during the repair.
No traffic will be permitted through the work area. Drivers are asked to follow the marked detour or see alternate routes to avoid delays.
