Jackson County 708 Board met July 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order (5:30 pm.)

Members Present: Hunter, St. Julian and Thomas

Members Absent: Clark, Flowers, Williamson and Willis

Also Present: Sarah Patrick, Graydon Burchfield, Bonnie Vaughn, Shannon Odom, Deanna Cruse, Betti Mucha, Carla Childs, Kevin Lipe, Ginney Donney, Jocelyn Popit, Holly Cormier, Patty Mullen, Maggie McKenzie

I. 18-3531 Review of FY19 Funding Applications

A. Odom introduced Cruse as the new Executive Director. She went on to explain to the board that the increase that is being requested for FY19 is because the program has finally received an increase in federal dollars and the money from the board is used as a match so the match will have to increase. This increase will allow Archway to expand the program and give staff a bit of a raise.

B. Popit introduced herself as the new Executive Director of Centerstone. She explained that the funding is used for crisis services and their school based services. They have been able to expand the program through telepsych services and they how to continue this program as well as their traditional services.

C. Mullen arrived at the end of the meeting. The board thanked her for coming and said they did not have any questions.

D. Mucha began by thanking the board for their support. The funding goes to pay for the rent and electricity at the Murphysboro facility. They have been able to increase the number of interviews that they do in Murphysboro over the last couple of years.

E. Donney began by informing the board that the funding supports the Carbondale and Terrier Care clinics. Recently they have been able to increase the maximum number of visits of their confidential services at the Terrier Care clinic.

F. Vaughn introduced Burchfield to the board. The funding helps pay for the salary and fringe benefits for a driver to take clients to doctor appointments, court appointments, etc. They have asked for a five percent increase to allow them to give the driver a bit of a raise.

G. Cormier stated that the Clinical Center provides a variety of services. The board funding pays for assessments and evaluations for children in families that cannot afford the LD and ADHD testing. In some cases they are able to help with mediation at the schools.

H. Lipe introduced himself and explained that the board funding supports vocational rehab services at S.T.A.R.T. Specifically, the funds support a case manager and a work shop manager.

I. Childs explained that the board funding pays for the staff at the satellite fa cility in the Erma Hayes Center in Carbondale. This satellite office offers resources, group meetings, and client appointments.
