Report: Carbondale spent $12,937 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Carbondale Elementary School District 95 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jackson County school district spent $12,705 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,937 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1482 to 1508.

Carbondale's spending in 2016-17 was 0 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
