Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Join CCA every first Friday of the month for a public reception to celebrate the current exhibit at Artspace 304.

For the month of May, CCA First Friday will feature the exhibit Flora on view at Artspace 304 through May 24. The exhibit showcases seven Southern Illinois artists’ exploration and fascination of plant life. These artists have developed a passion to depict the natural beauty of this subject matter while enjoying the flora that surrounds them.

This exhibit features artists Kendall Bell, Kathy Belletire, Bettie Claus, Karen Linduska, Mary Pachikara, Susan Phillips, and Jan York. Each artist has their own unique style and techniques ranging from fibers, pen and ink, to photography, and painting. The flora captured in these works take inspiration from the plants that surround them in their personal gardens, neighborhood, or throughout their travels.
