Analysis: Marion pays $5.21 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lake Egypt Fpd Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.9 percent of the $200,972 the Lake Egypt Fpd Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.21 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Marion contributed $168,628 to the fund, which saw a $5,195 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $32,343, or 16.1 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
