Analysis: Carterville pays $3.01 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Carterville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.1 percent of the $126,845 the Carterville Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.01 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Carterville contributed $95,241 to the fund, which saw a $10,953 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $31,604, or 24.9 percent, in 2016.
