Analysis: Carterville pays $2.31 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Carterville Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 69.8 percent of the $78,782 the Carterville Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.31 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Carterville contributed $54,990 to the fund, which saw a $15,749 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $23,793, or 30.2 percent, in 2016.
