Carterville Community Unit School District 5 Board met January 13.

The Carterville Community Unit School District No. 5 Board of Education met in special session in the Carterville High School Community Room at 8:00 a.m., January 13, 2018. The President of the Board, Mr. David Schwartz, called the meeting to order. The following members were present:
Mr. Bogard Mr. Glover Mrs. Monje Mr. Schwartz Mr. Sizemore Mr. Yewell
Board member Mr. Compton was absent when roll was called.
Superintendent Liddell, Assistant Superintendent Barnstable, Principals Forby, Hartford, Rogers, and Webb, Assistant Principals Ballestro, Diel, and Owens were also present.
Agenda Item 2 - Visitor Participation
There was no request for visitor participation. Agenda Item 3 - Closed Session
The motion was made by Mrs. Monje (seconded by Mr. Glover) to go into closed session to consider matters related to superintendent evaluation. The motion carried with all present voting 'Aye'.
Agenda Items 4 - Adjournment out of Closed Session The motion was made by Mrs. Monje (seconded by Mr. Sizemore) to adjourn the closed session. The motion carried with all present voting 'Aye',
Agenda Items 5- Approval Closed Session Minutes
The motion was made by Mr. Glover (seconded by Mr. Bogard) to accept the minutes of the closed session. The motion carried with all present voting 'Aye'.
Agenda Item 6- New Business Agenda Item 6.1- Review/Discuss District Programs, Finances, and Goals
The Board and administration discussed initiatives currently in place in regards to school safety, educational opportunities, strategic planning, employee recruitment, and development of school/community relationships.
Agenda Item 7 - Other Business
There was no other business to discuss.
Agenda Item 8- Adjournment
The motion was made by Mr. Glover (seconded by Mrs. Monje) to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried with all present voting 'Aye'.
