2.3 Consideration of the Hearing Officer's Report and Recommendation In Re Stix Bar, LLC 2017-13
Attorney Alfred Sanders was present on behalf of Stix Bar, LLC, and refuted certain aspects of the
Hearing Officer's findings. City Attorney Jamie Snyder rebutted Mr. Sanders' remarks. Each attorney then
responded to the other's comments.
There was a discussion about an appropriate date for the suspension and the possibility of an appeal.
Attorney Sanders noted that they have 20 days to appeal the action and requested that the Commission
make the date effective at least 21 days out. The Commission determined that Tuesday, March 27, 2018,
would be an appropriate date for suspension and would allow plenty of time after the week of spring
break so that the suspension can be effective during their peak time. Mr. Sanders then indicated that based
on the appeal timeline, it would likely have to be rescheduled regardless. Elius Reed, 2012 South Illinois
Avenue, inquired about the violation and the penalty.
MOTION: Accept the Hearing Officer's Report and Recommendation in Case 2017-13.
