City of Marion City Council met February 8.

Minutes of a Special Meeting held at Marion City Hall Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Carson and Kennedy Blue. Mayor Rinella called the meeting to order. The roll call response was as follows:
Physically Present: Commissioner Hightower, Commissioner Webb and Commissioner Goss and Mayor Rinella.
Absent: None.
Mayor Rinella stated this is a Special Meeting having given notice of the Special Meeting forty- eight hours prior to the meeting as stated in 05/ILCS 120/2.02 with the reason for the Special Called Meeting being as follows:
1. Officially swear in Monte Blue, as Commissioner.
2. Council approval of Commissioner's appointments to assigned departments.
Newly appointed Commissioner Monte Blue was sworn in by City Clerk Alice Rix. Commissioner Blue was seated at the Council table.
Ordinance 3425 — An Ordinance defining the Department of Public Affairs, Department of Accounts, Finances and Streets, Department of Public Health and Safety and Department of Public Works. Commissioner Goss made a motion to approve Ordinance 3425 as presented. Commissioner Webb seconded the motion.
ON ROLL CALL VOTE COMMISSIONERS HIGHTOWER, BLUE, WEBB. GOSS AND MAYOR RINELLA VOTED YEA.
ORDINANCE 3426 - AN ORDINANCE ASSIGNING SUPERVISION OF AND AUTHORITY OVER THE DEPARTS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT. Commissioner Webb made a motion to approve Ordinance 3426 as presented. Commissioner Goss seconded the motion.
ON ROLL CALL VOTE COMMISSIONERS HIGHTOWER, BLUE, WEBB AND GOSS VOTED YEA.
Commissioner Goss made a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting. Commissioner Webb Seconded the motion.
