New Business

1. Approval of Student Handbooks for 2017-2018.

A motion by Blumenstock and seconded by Bailey to approve the attached student handbooks for FY 18.

2. Approval of Bank for Depository for 2017-2018.

A motion by Gray and seconded by Blumenstock to approve First Southern as the school depository for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.

3. Public Hearing on FY 18 Budget.

A motion by Blumenstock and seconded by Bailey to set the date for a public hearing on the budget as Monday, September 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Crab Orchard School and to publish the following notice of Public Hearing on the Budget.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of Community Unit School Dist. #3 in the County of Williamson, State of Illinois, that a tentative budget for the said school district for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017 will be on file and conveniently available for public inspection at the Crab Orchard Unit School District #3, 19189 Cory Bailey Street, Marion, IL, in the school district from and after 8:00 O’clock a.m. on the 18th Day of August, 2017. Notice if further given a public hearing on said budget will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th day of September, 2017, at the Crab Orchard Unit School District No. 3, dated this 10th day of July, 2017, Board of Education of School District No. 3 in the County of Williamson, State of Illinois.

4. Approval of Hazardous Transportation Conditions.

A motion by Bailey and seconded by Killman to certify that the hazardous transportation conditions have been reviewed and remain unchanged. The Board of Education desires to retain the “Approved Status” of hazardous routes of the original application so that free transportation for the 2017-2018 school year can be provided to the identified population.

February 9, 2015, March 16, 2015, April 20, 2015, May 7 & 18, 2015, June 15 & 29, 2015, August 17, 2015, September 21, 2015, October 19, 2015, and November 16, 2015.

7. Principal’s Report

A motion by Blumentstock and seconded by Anderson to go into closed session on July 10, 2017, at 6:16 p.m., in the Crab Orchard School to discuss:

1. The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2©(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057.

2. Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS
