City of Marion Council met April 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella called the meeting to order.

The roll call response was as follows:

Physically Present: Commissioners Webb and Goss and Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella ABSENT: Commissioner Hightower and Mayor Butler.

Mayor Pro-Tern Rinella announced this is a Special Meeting called for the following purpose:

1) Council approval of receiving a DCEO LED Electrical Grant in the estimated amount of $230,097.00.

2) Council approval and acceptance of electrical contract from Bruce Electric Service Inc. to remove existing fixtures and replace with new LED equals, up to a total cost of $311,205.00.

Street Superintendent Doug Phillips told the Council the DCEO LED Electrical Grant is for upgrades to certain intersection lights. After submitting the application that had to be submitted by April 17, 2017, it was learned that the total project had to be completed with all invoices submitted by May 15, 2017, hence the urgency for this meeting.

Commissioner Goss made a motion to approve the City of Marion receiving the DCEO LED Electrical Grant in the estimated amount of $230,097.00. Commissioner Webb seconded the motion.

On Roll Call Vote Commissioners Webb And Goss And Mayor Protem Rinella All Voted Yea.

Street Superintendent Doug Phillips told the Council Bruce Electric Service Inc. is on an approved Vender list with State Electric.

Commissioner Goss made a motion to approve the bid of Bruce Electric Service Inc. with Commissioner Webb seconding the motion.

On Roll Call Vote Commissioners Webb And Goss And Mayor Protem= Rinella All Voted Yea.

Commissioner Goss made a motion to adjourn the meeting with Commissioner Webb seconding the motion.

On Roll Call Vote Commissioners Webb And Goss And Mayor Protem Rinella All Voted Yea. Commissioner Hightower And Mayor Butler Absent.

Meeting Adjourned.
