Bradley Elementary School District 61 Board of Education met May 1.

The Special Meeting of the Board of Education of Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 was held on May 1, 2017, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Bradley Administrative Building. President Golwitzer called the meeting to order and thereafter presided.

On roll call the following members voted Present: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Also present, Superintendent Dr. Goselin. Absent: None
On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Golwitzer and seconded by Trudeau to accept the Kankakee County Clerk canvass of the election vote and declare the results of that election.
On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Abstain: None Nays: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Trudeau to nominate Terrie Golwitzer as President protem.
Voice vote was unanimous.
A motion was made by Golwitzer to nominate Mark Hasemeyer as Secretary protem.
Voice vote was unanimous.
At 5:06 p.m., a motion was made by Whalen and seconded by Trudeau to adjourn (sine die).
Voice vote was unanimous.
At 5:07 p.m., President pro tem. Golwitzer called "The new Board of Education of Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 to come to order.” - “The Secretary pro tem will call the roll.'
On roll call the following members voted Present: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Also present, Superintendent Dr. Goselin. Absent: None
President pro tem - swore in the newly elected members of the school board - 1) Oath of Office - "All Say Together"; 2) Explanation of the Officers - President, VicePresident and Secretary; 4) Term of Office - President protem - 2 years unless by Board resolution or motion; 5) Compensation of Secretary - beginning in May 2017 will be set at $30.00 (from $25.00) per meeting until May 2019.
A motion was made by Trudeau and seconded by Geraci to approve compensation of Secretary to $30.00 per meeting until May 2019.
On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer,
Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Abstain: None Nays: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Hasemeyer to nominate Terrie Golwitzer as Board President to serve a term of two years. The Secretary protem is instructed to record a unanimous vote for that member and Terrie Golwitzer is declared elected.
A motion was made by Golwitzer to nominate a single candidate, Mark Hasemeyer as Board Secretary to serve a term of two years. The Secretary protem is instructed to record a unanimous vote for that member and Mark Hasemeyer is declared elected.
A motion was made by Golwitzer to nominate a single candidate, Chris Geraci as Board Vice-President to serve a term of two years. The President protem is instructed to record a unanimous vote for that member and Chris Geraci is declared elected.
A motion was made by Trudeau and seconded by Whalen to adopt the current General Policy Manual “pending further and periodic review.”
On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Abstain: None Nays: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Hasemeyer and seconded by Geraci to "establish the regular meeting date, time, and place.” The regular meeting date of the Board of Education of Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 of Kankakee County, Illinois will be the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Bradley Schools Administrative Center, Bradley, Illinois.

A motion was made by Trudeau and seconded by Whalen to set the Fiscal Year of the District as July 1 thru June 30".

A motion to go into Executive Session at 5:33 p.m. was made by Golwitzer and seconded by Geraci to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, dismissal or complaints 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)).

Reconvene to Open Session at 7:34 p.m.
On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Geraci and seconded by Golwitzer to approve the Employment of the Director of Finance -Nicole McCarty.
On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Nays: None Motion carried.
On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Geraci and seconded by Schubert to approve the Employment of Dave Andriano as Director of Human Resource and Operations.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Whalen and seconded by Geraci to approve the Employment of Trisha Anderson as Building Principal for Bradley West.
On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert, and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Nays: None Motion carried.
On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Golwitzer and seconded by Geraci to approve the Employment of Kirt Hendrick as needed (up to 20 days) to provide support in the transition for the New Director of Finance.
