The Water Committee met March 29, 2017 at 3:30 PM. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Phase II of the Watermain Replacement Project. Chairman Larry White convened the meeting at 3:30 PM.

Present:

John Evans, Village President

Larry White, Chair

Tony Rushing, Trustee

David Griffin, Director of Public Works

Amanda Tinsley, J. T. Blankenship Inc.

Harold Sheffer, J. T. Blankenship Inc.

Dale Jones, Former Director of Public Works

Since the Village’s application for a DCEO grant to help with the project was denied, the Village will continue with the IEPA loan for the full amount. Blankinship’s preliminary estimate of the cost is $631,890.00. Amanda Tinsley and Harold Sheffer are relatively certain that the Village will get the 50% debt forgiveness. However, verification will not come until after the project has started.

Everyone reviewed the plans for Phase II. Mrs. Tinsley will get an enlarged copy of the Phase II plan sheet.

Mr. Sheffer stated that it is important to get the project started in IEPA’s current fiscal year so that this fiscal year’s funds can be used in order to get the debt forgiveness. Therefore, Mr. Sheffer would like to take bids on May 1, 2017.

The meeting ended at 4:45 PM.
